Grace worked briefly in a government digital-services unit before moving into journalism, which gave her firsthand exposure to how slowly and unevenly public institutions adapt hiring practices for AI roles. She covers workforce policy and retraining initiatives across African governments as well as comparable programs in Europe and North America, looking for what's actually funded versus announced. She's particular about following up on programs a year or two after their launch to see what happened. She works closely with policy researchers and public records requests.
